VIA is a pluralistic non-profit organisation. Its core business is intercultural exchange through voluntary work.
VIA organises short term exchanges in voluntary projects in more than 100 countries around the world. All programs are open to all, regardless of gender, nationality, age, religion and cultural, social or economic background.
VIA is the Flemish branch of two worldwide networks that are active in the field of voluntary work, peace and solidarity:
VIA contributes to good relations between people of different cultural backgrounds. It does so by means of intercultural exchange and voluntary work. VIA's activities are open to people with various values, standards and backgrounds. They improve mutual respect and tolerance in the own environment and elsewhere.
VIA respects eleven basic principles:
VIA organises work@world: international group exchange, during 2 or 3 weeks, mostly during the summer, in more than 100 countries all over the world.
Thanks to this exchange program, VIA allows Flemish volunteers to go abroad to live and work in a foreign country for a short period of time. Each year VIA welcomes groups of foreign volunteers and employs them into Flemish host projects or organisations for a few weeks.
VIA is a voluntary organisation. It only exists thanks to the many helping hands of local volunteers.
The VIA office is situated in Antwerp, nearby the Central Station. You can visit VIA during office hours, except on Thursday mornings and on national holidays. All contact information can be found on this page.
